Doyle Doyle reported that Secretary, Jim Skeen's Mother, had just passed away from a bout with Cancer. He passed around a card for all attendees to sign (Harry will mail to Jim's house). Doyle made a motion that the club send a planter, or something appropriate to Jim's home. Harry also volunteered to take this on - Thanks Harry. Yes
Harry Harry reported on a community service that SoAR has committed to. The Legacy Park Community is having a barbaque on November the 7th, and Activity director - Deborah Basey - has asked us to set up a rocket display and do some demo launches in their Community green (a little larger than a football field). For those SoAR members helping, there will be free barbeque. N/A
Doyle Doyle reminded the group that the design award has only one more month for qualifying flights. Joe Burley and Doyle are the only two entries so far. There is still time and it is not a difficult task to get in this years contest. If you want to compete and have any questions - email Doyle N/A
Greg Starflight Industries, you may have seen this vendor at Perry launches, will soon be attending SoAR Cartersville launches. They promise to stock the Estes line of motors as well as the larger motors they usually carry. N/A
Greg The search goes on for a power cord for SoAR's 12v PA (the one that has been being used belongs to TARA). Harry and Greg discussed places to try to find one before the October launch. N/A
Greg Greg reminded Doyle to purchase another of the water fire extinguishers, like the one we already own. N/A
Greg There is a Radio Control Club in Canton that has a Warbird Fly In, giving us the possibility to see about setting up a rocket display and doing some demo launches. N/A
Greg As a group, we came up with the 1999 launch schedule. Since many other clubs, including GAMMA (Perry), launches on the third Sunday of each month - Greg suggested that we go to the second Sunday - there were no objections. The only exception to the rule was that in February, the second Sunday is Valentines Day, so we went for the third Sunday (the 21st). We also skipped April and June - due to the NSL '99. N/A

Dale
Building Techniques:  We had planned to do a demo on filling fins with Elmers Fill N Finish and then discussing competition building techniques. Due to the low turnout we shortened it to a brief discussion on the Competetion models (and looked at the box of oddities that Dale brought in - German motors, old Centuri and FSI kits) N/A
